Comments Policy
Climate Spectator welcomes debate and different points of view, however...
– We reserve the right to distinguish between that which is constructive, focused criticism and debate and that which is not. Personal attacks, trolling, smear campaigns and abuse targeted at columnists, other contributors or editorial staff will not be tolerated.
– We will remove any content we believe is offensive or threatening to others.
– We will close conversation threads that we judge to have descended into tit-for-tat bickering or mindless repetition.
– We will not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia or any other forms of hate-speech, or comments that could be interpreted as such.
– Posts unrelated to the original topic of the article may be removed, to keep the thread on track.
– Queries or comments about moderation should not be posted as comments and will also be removed. If you have queries of this nature that are not answered by this comments policy, you should email editor@climatespectator.com.au.
– When referring to other people's comments, please do not re-post large segments of text – noting the author, title and time of comment is the preferred style.
– Please avoid posting large extracts of text from other publications or websites – this may result in editing or deletion. Links to the article is the preferred style.
– Please keep comments as brief as possible – there is word limit of 1250 characters currently in place and if you paste in large chunks of text that are longer than this they will be cut short automatically.
– We will remove any posts that appear spam-like. Our publishing system also has an automatic spam filter, which has been known to delete items that contain a great deal of hyperlinks and/or acronyms.
– Repeat offenders whose comments repeatedly breach all or any one of the above guidelines risk being blocked from commenting on the site, permanently or for a period of time.
– Finally, while we will endeavor to monitor and moderate all comment threads on this site, due to limited resources this might not always be the case. Anyone who wishes to alert us to a comment or thread that breaches any of these policy guidelines can email on editor@climatespectator.com.au.
Thanks for commenting!
